Lead sculpture

In 2018 USA artist Leslie Pearson and I successfully won an Arts commission to collaborate, plan, design and create the City of Greater Geelong lead artwork 'Canoe'  sculpture for the 2018 Mountain To Mouth Extreme Arts Walk.  The 5 metre ephemeral sculpture, is the totem of the 80km Extreme Arts walk, that follows a contemporary songline, carried by members of the communities in which it travels. A beautiful ceremony by the local indigneous  owners, the Wadawurrung (Wathaurong), began at the You Yangs. An overnight ceremony was held in the city of Geelong, before 'Canoe' was carried down through townships, along the Bellarine Peninsula, and completing it's journey at Barwon Heads, where 'Canoe' was ceremoniously set on fire and drifted to sea...
